Weekend Recap..Some Projects... and a Winner!

Weekend Recap...
My hubster was on a trip all last week with our college students, so it was great to finally be reunited on Friday!  I'd like to say that we just spent the weekend in our Pj's soaking up time together, but it was packed with things that we needed to accomplish. There was a wedding shower, a birthday party, projects around the house, grocery shopping, and laundry to be done.  Lydia and I did manage to make a trip on Saturday morning to Winter Park for the wedding gift at Williams-Sonoma, and we couldn't keep ourselves from stopping in at the most wonderful french bakery for some strawberry crepes.  I captured some pictures of our morning together as we perused some shops close to the bakery.
A couple of days before my husband was scheduled to be home, I took the kids on a bike ride and to the park for some much needed play time!  Last week was harder on me than it normally is when he goes out of town.  I found myself living in Struggleville  more often than I'd like to recall, so these pictures of our time at the park are proof that we did enjoy some of the week!!

Some Projects...
I also wanted to show you the projects that Andy, my husband, did over the weekend.  You might remember that I featured Lissa from Humble Pie last week.  I've been in love with that huge piece that she has in her front entry since I first saw it a while back, and he made one very similar to it for us!  It took him about 12 hours to complete it, but we are both pretty impressed with his skillz. :) He aged the frame that he built around the piece to look like old barn wood.  Pretty Awesome, huh?

He made us some shutters to go above each of our night stands. A dear friend from highschool sent me the floral & butterfly prints.  He's a remarkable artist, and I'm honored to have his work in our home.  You can find some of his work at art.com.  His name is Michael Chad Barrett, and you'll be excited to know that his art has been featured in several of our favorite magazines!

Here is a close up of the prints that he gave to me...

And a Winner!
Last week, I had my very first give away.  Tahra West from Designs by Tahra  generously offered one of my sweet readers a $25 credit to her Etsy store.  Your chances of winning were pretty grrrreat since there were only 15 of you that left comments. *smile*  Anywho, I am beyond thrilled to announce that the winner is.....DRUMROLL.................................................................... ...........................................................Comment # 3 from Maureen!!!!!  At your convenience go check out her Etsy store, pick out your favorite piece with the $25 credit, then email me so that I can get you in touch with Tahra.  She promises to mail your jewelry out pronto!  Congratulations Maureen!
